Botanic Gardens - Part 1

Goodbye has started for the Thompsons. On Wednesday, office staff and friends went to the Botanic Gardens in DC. It was beautiful and amazing.

Outside







 The Conservatory - The sun was shining brightly, so the pictures are well, sunny.






The Monuments - all made of plant based materials, all in the conservatory. Materials used: sycamore leaves and bark, willow sticks, seagrass twine, wheat, winged euonymus,  fern fronds, kangaroo pods, screw pods, acorns, pine cone scales, shelf fungus, corn husks, reeds, grape tendrils, chestnut bark, beech nuts, elm bark, cinnamon, bamboo, basket cane, raffia, walnut shells, birch sticks, salal leaves, bamboo twigs, horse chestnut,  forsythia sticks, locust bark, royal Poinciana pods, elm wood, seagrape leaves, birch bark, lichens, flower petals, coriander seeds, sisal rope, burl oak, cedar blocks, gourd, Australian pine fruit, moss, mahogany pods, white birch bark, honeysuckle sticks, hemlock cones, bear paw pods, hemlock cones, dusty miller, burning bush, thatch reed, nigella, okra, river rock, deer bone, horse's hoof fungus, turktail fungus, slate, shell, sand dollar, pigeon plum leaf, and more.
